Documentation 2D / 3D Modelling
Latest as-built plans like e.g. floor plans, sections and views, are in many areas the basis for the planning of renovations and modifications. However, in many cases, these documentation of buildings, facilities or plants are incomplete or simply out-of-date.
In such cases we can support you efficiently and thus your project will only be delayed slightly: After the data capturing with our 3D laser scanners, the necessary 2D or 3D documentation will be created.

2D ortho images – georeferenced raster data from 3D laser scanning
From the 3D laser scanning data, orthoscopic 2D images are generated as raster data with the help of special software products; these data is georeferenced to CAD in correct position and altitude. With this data we can quickly inform our customers about the current situation in the capturing area.
BKR is also using ortho images as basis for creating documentation. Especially for simple structures this variant of handling in CAD ensures an economical and fast processing. These 2D ortho images are particularly suitable for generating floor plans, sections and views for simple architectures. In the end however, the choice of the appropriate tool depends on the requirements and wishes of the customer.
Visualisation of the 3D scatter-plot in NavisWorks
For the 3D visualisation we are using – among other software products – the program NavisWorks. It is used for visualisation and analysis of 3D models from different data sources and offers a high functionality. CAD models can thus be visualised and animated together with the data from 3D laser scanning. NaviWorks is a useful tool with many functions, such as:

- Interactive visualisation and real time processing of large and complex 3D models

- Linking and comparing of models
- Creating of views
- Sectional views
- Animations
NavisWorks is compatible with the most common 3D design formats, as e.g. MicroStation, AutoCad, PDMS and PDS.
