Surveying of industrial plants with 3D Laser Scanning
Laser scanning is particularly interesting for operators of industrial plants which have to be continuously in operation and whose shut-down would cause a significant financial loss. However the capturing of the as-built data is also necessary; thus it is important to try to reduce the loss to a minimum. With our laser scanners of the newest generation we can create a very high number of scans per day.
After the onsite intervention these scans will then result in the creation of a point cloud, which reflects the current as-built condition of the object. From this point cloud a CAD model of the plant will be created. The advantage is that also after completion to the scans, this model can be reworked on the basis of the point cloud. This means that forgetting of one area of the plant doesn’t necessitate a resumption of the surveying work in the plant.
